7894 – Start of new fiscal year – reset of journal entry sequential numbering

Issue Summary: [7894] Journal entry sequential numbering was reset at the start of the new fiscal year, resulting in duplicated sequence numbers.

Resolution / Workaround: The customer acknowledged system limitation and confirmed that SAP’s standard fiscal-year-based numbering behavior would be continued. The Manage Journal Entries Numbering app can restart journal entry numbering manually, but this process is operationally time-consuming and not practical for regular use.
